William Henry Holt, Jr.

William Henry Holt, Jr., 73, died November 19, 2009 at Memorial University Medical Center. He was born and reared in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Holt moved to Savannah while in the United States Air Force stationed at Hunter Air Field. He was a member of the 308th. Bomb Wing Division, servicing KC-97 Tankers, and B-47 Bombers. After his military career, he was educated in electronics at Armstrong Atlantic University and Savannah Technical College. He worked a short time for Union Camp Corporation before accepting a position with Kodak, Inc. During his 35 year career with Kodak, he worked in Atlanta, receiving some of his training for his position as Technical Resource person and Senior Field Engineer working mostly in Rochester, New York. He was a communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and was a former member of St. James Catholic Church. Mr. Holt was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a 4th degree knight. He enjoyed flying large scale model air planes and offshore fishing. His wife, Kathleen Mary Thompson Holt and son, William Henry Holt, III preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Walter Holt and Sheila F. Holt; Jay Michael Holt all of Savannah; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen Mary Haupt and Calvin Haupt of Atlanta; two grandsons, John James Nakelski and Taylor Walter Holt both of Savannah.
Visitation: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Vigil Service at 5:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2009 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis J. Nelson, Celebrant.
Burial: Catholic Cemetery.
